Lemon Balm

The name “Melissa” means “honeybees” and shows close relationship between lemon balm and bees. In ancient communities, crushed leaves of lemon balm were placed in beehives to attract and calm wandering bees. Human use of lemon balm dates back to over 2000 ears, mostly used as stress relief herb. Lemon alm tea contains an important ingredient called Citral for which various health benefits are reported.
